Dear PIC Representatives and School Councils,

From February 1 to March 29, 2019, parents/guardians of students at the Halton District School Board are invited to complete the HDSB engagement survey: Have Your Say. The survey will help us identify opportunities to improve schools and ensure student achievement and well-being are at the centre of everything we do.

The survey will be available starting Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at, or via the Board's website at Parents/guardians will receive an email with a link to the survey.

Parental engagement is fundamental to student achievement and well-being, and the success of our schools. As members of the School Council and/or PIC reps, we ask that you work with your school principal to promote awareness. This data continues to support school and system improvement planning.

The Have Your Say survey is completely anonymous and individual responses are always grouped together for analysis.

The survey will be available in six additional languages: Arabic, French, Hindi, Mandarin, Punjabi, and Urdu. There is no login or password required.

We are committed to sharing the results of this engagement. A summary of what we hear from parents/guardians will be provided by June 2019. Infographics with highlights from the previous administration of the surveys are available at
