ExtraCurriculars

Nelson is extremely excited to begin starting up extracurriculars once again! Unfortunately due to the pandemic, many clubs and athletics have been postponed until further notice. Continue to check your emails and social media for updates on clubs and teams in the near future!

Here are a few clubs that are starting up along with who to contact for inquiries;

Computer Programming Club

The Computer Programming Club will appeal to both the beginner and intermediate programmer. Beginner students will learn basic skills while intermediates will work on improving them. Members will learn REACT (a javascript framework that FB uses to build web apps) and python, work on a project with a real client, and complete fun programming challenges! Those that work with REACT and with clients will receive letters of recommendation from VHA Medical and professors of the University of Toronto.
The first virtual meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 18, at 3:00 pm.
Interested students can contact Mr. Philip (philipd@hdsb.ca) for the meet link and more details.
