If you graduated from Nelson during or at the end of Semester 1, and are no longer attending the school, please contact Mrs. Thomblison ( in the main office with your contact information. We will add you to our graduates email list so you don't miss out on important information!

As mentioned in previous emails, Nelson VSS students that are graduating this year are invited to take part in grad activities. Please contact the main office if you have any questions.

Date: Tuesday, May 31, 2022
Place: Burlington Convention Centre
Time: Grads arrive 6:00 pm
Guests arrive for a 7:00 pm start

Due to the high number of graduating students and hall capacity limitations, each graduating student may invite a maximum of two guests. This limit has been implemented to ensure there is room for every grad to have two people in attendance. We will be live streaming the ceremony so that additional family members and friends may also view this important milestone. More information regarding the livestream will be forwarded to families in the coming weeks.

Nelson will be providing a grad gown, cap and stole for each of this year's potential graduating students. All Graduates must wear these items during the ceremony. Gown packages will be distributed May 25th, 26th and 30th at Nelson during the lunch hour. Students, please listen to announcements or check the Grad Info page closer to the dates with the location. Nelson VSS students: if you have questions about receiving your gown please contact Mrs. Thomblison in the main office.

To ensure the ceremony flows smoothly, we have arranged for Pegasus School Images to photograph each grad as they walk across the stage. These pictures will be distributed to students in early July with their diploma. We ask that guests refrain from leaving their seats to take pictures.

Prom 2022

This year the Nelson High School Class of 2022 will be celebrating their success with a school Prom. The evening will include a dinner and dance ending at 11:00 p.m. Students must arrive by 6:30pm. The evening will be attended and supervised by our teachers, administration and paid duty police officers.

Time: 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM Doors close at 6:30 PM
Cost: $80.00 per ticket

Step 1) Pay ticket fee online - May 1st to May 10th

Payment for tickets must be made via SchoolCash Online. You will be able to access the 'Prom' fee through SchoolCash Online only from May 1st to May 10th. Please note if you are bringing a guest that doesn't attend Nelson High School you will have to purchase their ticket for them.

Step 2) Print and complete the necessary permission forms

Each grade 12 Nelson student attending Prom must submit a completed 'Nelson Grad Permission' form. If you are bringing a guest that doesn't attend Nelson High School, you must submit their completed 'Guest Permission' form.

You can print your own forms through these links, or there are also printed copies available in the main office.

3) Ticket confirmation & table selection - May 5th to May 11th

Representatives from the Prom Committee will be set up in the foyer during the lunch period from May 5th to May 11th. You must bring your SchoolCash receipt and your printed completed permission form(s) to get your ticket(s).

At this time you can also choose your table grouping. Tables can accommodate 10 people. It is helpful if everyone you are planning to share a table with is present and confirms their tickets at the same time.

Please note that tickets are not transferable.

*Nelson Grade 12 VSS students - if you are interested in attending Prom you can purchase a ticket via your Virtual school SchoolCash Online account. Once you have paid for your ticket please contact Mr. Clark at for more details.
