"Growing up in Burlington, there weren’t many places where I truly felt like I belonged, but Nelson’s drama program changed that for me. It quickly became a safe space, where I not only felt supported, but celebrated.
That Grade 10 drama class was the first time I remember realizing that being a dancer wasn’t something I had to hide. It was my secret weapon, not something to be ashamed of.
I’m endlessly grateful to Nelson's drama teachers for believing in me and challenging me to deepen my craft by showing up fully and authentically on stage. When I look back on my time at Nelson, my most cherished memories are from Drama and Musical Theatre. Those classes made me feel seen and gave me the confidence to pursue the life I have now."
