School Council

Every Ontario school has a school council - a vital advisory group that supports student achievement and strengthens the connection between families, schools and the education system. Parents can run for election each fall. By joining, you help shape the learning experience in your school and contribute to a strong, collaborative education system. Your voice matters.

All parents/guardians are encouraged to attend our School Council meetings and to consider holding a position on our Council for the 2025-2026 School Year.  We value your insights as we continue to support our entire school community with a focus on promoting the intellectual engagement and well-being of all Nelson students. 

The first meeting is on Wednesday September 24, 2025 at 7:00 pm in the school library, where the Council for the 2025-2026 school year will be decided.  Parents interested in holding an elected position on Council are asked to complete and submit this FORM by Wednesday September 17, 2025 at 4:00 pm.
